THE PLACES WE CALL HOME

Produced as a year-long thesis project, The Places We Call Home is a series of animations illustrating memories of homes no longer lived in.

The longing for home is a natural response when we are displaced. For some, this feeling of nostalgia intensifies the longer they remain away from home. Featuring the voices and narratives of three people who moved to the US from countries around the world, The Places We Call Home focuses on individual immigrants and their feelings towards their homeland. Separately, each animation depicts a cherished moment that is specific to the individual; collectively, the animations begin to explore what factors universally define a location as “home”.
